Ancaster Limestone An exciting new addition to our range
Genuine, Natural Limestone. Available in two grades / Colours. A popular stone used throughout the UK. Suitable for Masonry, Paving, etc. Suitable for internal or external use. Distinctive, beautiful colouring.
Sawn paving is normally produced in widths of 300, 450 and 600mm and in random lengths. Thicknesses are 50 or 75mm. Other sizes can be easily supplied as all products are produced to order.
As with all natural materials, variations in colour will occur and should be regarded as part of the charm of natural Stone.
Ancaster Limestone is quarried near the villiage of Ancaster in Lincolnshire. Many great works of architecture have been constructed from Ancaster stone including Harlaxton Manor, Norwich Cathedral and St Johns College Cambridge.
Ancaster stone may be seen in a modern building, in use as a facing and flooring stone, at 'The Collection' in Lincoln, pictured above.

Thickness :
Ancaster stone is available in the following standard thickness
1) 38 mm
2) 50 mm
3) 75 mm
4) 100 mm
There can be slight variations in thickness due to the sawing process. It may be necessary to bed each stone to ensure a level finished result.
