Thornton moor is natural sandstone product of with a very desirable blend of subtle natural tones. Colours range subtly from buff yellow through to greyer tones.
Bingley Stone stock a large quantity of standard sizes and keep slab on stock to enable cutting of specific sizes to order. Our aim is to be able to offer a competitively priced product with quick turnarounds.
Diamond cut sandstone is a versatile product that can be utilised in many ways. Thornton Moor stone has been used for Paving, Coping Stones, Steps, Pool Edgings, Feature Stones amongst many other applications.
Thornton Moor can be laid as supplied or sealed with a preparatory product. If left natural it will mellow and age gracefully over time. The colour will warm as it ages to a rich buff brown, to a varying degree due to factors such as its environmental location. If sealed it will prolong the weathering process by holding back the micro-organisms and staining that can occur.
Sawn stone products are cut to a tolerance of +-2mm

Thornton stone is available in the following standard thickness
1) 38 mm
2) 50 mm
3) 75 mm
4) 100 mm
There can be slight variations in thickness due to the sawing process. It may be necessary to bed each stone to ensure a level finished result.
